Another unwanted blunder from Yahoo. Changed their front page layout with out any notice. Seems like they know what we want with out asking. Makes me have to (fish) search in unknown waters so to speak. Son is trying to go back(refresh) with NO SUCCESS. Thinking about using another browser, but their layout packages is just (almost) as difficult to select subjects they think I would like to view. Do you agree/And if you successfully refreshed your Yahoo account, How did you accomplish it?? Regards LOU.

Lou I know this will not help but my #2 son with a degree in Computer Information Systems says they do those switch's like that because the younger users think it's getting out dated if they don't. So it's going to happen again.

LOU in WI,

Is there any chance that selecting a Restore Point date prior to the date of the Yahoo upgrade to new style page... would that possibly give you back the older version of the Yahoo home page?

I don't know for sure... just a thought. So see what others have to say about it. (Royse is a computer guy - maybe he will weigh in on this.)

P.S. Make sure it is a Restore POINT... (NOT a SYSTEM RESTORE which will wipe EVERYTHING off of your computer back to its factory settings--causing you to lose all your photos and document files, etc.)

Here is how it works of me.Yahoo home page is different than if I log in to Yahoo acct. When I log out I get a different page still.I would guess it is all Yahoo and not a browser setting.

Restoring things on your computer won't change what yahoo is feeding your computer over the wires. All it does is screw up your computer. Keep messing around long enough and you're going to lose data, or render your computer unusable.

You're best off just leaving it alone and getting used to the new layout.

They change with the intentions of making the interface more efficient, and keeping the look fresh so people don't get bored with it and quit coming back. Rest assured there are a lot more that complain because the site looks "old" than complain because the site "changed."

Hey Lou!

I have used Yahoo for 15 years plus.

Unless you have changed it your browser is Internet Explorer.

Yahoo is a destination on the net not a browser. You can use any browser ie. Chrome, Netscape ext. to access most any site.

In my opinion the changes in sites like Yahoo and browsers is not to improve services or convenience but to justify more people in the programming business.

One thing that is ALWAYS TRUE is that the updated software of any type will use more system resourses like memory and hard drive size.

I get annoyed with having to figure out how to get the info. I want from Yahoo every time they 'update' their website but you will find that this is true with almost any site.

Good luck!

Brad
