Frost made it a bit nasty driving through the corn field pic

Trying to get stuff put back into sheds and some scrap picked up before the chisel plowing starts... Had some frost this morning, went out about 11 AM and the top was sticky and slick. Definitely could feel some tire slippage on some hills.

After about half an hour of shuffling equipment most of the dirt came off, at least. But those front tires got clogged up with that nasty clay really bad; it was peeling off in sheets!

Though it is quite possible that I just had too much trailer for the tractor, hence the wheel slippage when climbing the sticky clay hills.

nice pic, i wouldnt think the trailer is too big for the tractor ive pulled a identical one on a on farm hay ride with 18 people in it, tractor was a farmall cub

You have plenty of tractor on that trailer. You just have to load it right. By the way, what's that stuff stuck to the tires? I think we in NWIA used to call it mud but it's been so long ago that I've seen the stuff my memory might be playing tricks on me. LOL Jim

I know! It hasn't even rained here that much in the past month, but this mornings frost managed to slick up the top layer just enough that it was soft and sticky. Haven't had it clump on the tires that bad in a long, long time. Especially not at all this year!

Yeah, it's always a balancing act to load trailers properly. The only thing I don't like about it is the trailer is no where near as maneuverable as a tricycle front end tractor.
