You be the judge

Few years back the "pot bellied dwarf" pig got some yuppy attention and became a fad. problems started showing up when the 100 pound "dwarf" turned out to be able to get to 250/300 pounds when fed. Local humane society got half dozen over the years, some other adds for "free to good home" and a bunch ended up as originally bred for marbled roast and bacon. A few ended up in feral population. Pig puberty means hormone change and behaviour change- "Pets" become "pests" in town. If cop shot it in head, maybe coroner needs to do autopsy to make sure about rabies status, other possible illness and then maybe sort of incinerate the pieces as cheap as possible- no need to get a crematorium if you quarter it and use a large Weber grill a piece at a time- charcoal and some apple branch pruning for a few hours at police parking lot or coroners back lot. Last sentance maybe needs the Teasing Alert! RN

And these are the people we are supposed to call when there is a problem? We were handling 30# pigs when we were 10 years old. I guess it's what you are used to/trained for.

Help Me out here as I"m getting a bit old and sometimes things aren"t what they seem. Did the cops realy shoot one of their own? And a young one at that.

I guess they never seen a animal that can't sweat get hot. I bet that most hogs will foam at the mouth when you get them real hot.

They say that us law abiding citizens should not be able to have guns but cops like this I should????

Thirty pound pig. Just pick it up by the leash and drop it in a garbage can. Carry it where ever you want.

Back in the day when we would "ring" noses, a small rope was used to "noose" the snout.

Tie off the rope anywhere and the pig would back up and pull against the rope for all its' worth.

Lots off squealing and pulling backwards, but no side-to-side or aggressive movement.

We'll discuss the method of "cutting" pigs another day.

"foaming at the mouth, a sign of rabies".Isn't that what a pig does.?A nervous horse at the racetrack may foam at the mouth. In the three stages of rabies nowhere does it mention "foaming" as a symptom.
It had a leash but he tried to pick it up. makes you wonder.
