Need antique tractor for high school play in Cleburne TX.

Odd request I know. Friend is overseeing a high school production of Charlotte's Web in Cleburne TX. She needs an older farm tractor for the stage.

Any of you have one that might fit the bill?

My newer John Deere is a little too newish.

Thanks----

I would build a card board replica of a tractor.

A rusty Farmall Regular on steel wheels would look cool.

Could you do a cardboard mock-up? If it's a background, a fairly realistic one could be painted pretty easy. School's art department?

As a kid, my dad would observe things that the average person would not. For example, on an Ed Sullivan show one time, they had a bunch of elephants on stage doing circus tricks. My dad wasn't impressed that the elephants could do tricks, he was impressed that the stage could hold up all that weight.
So....would the high school be able to get a tractor into the stage where this play was being held and could the stage hold up the several thousand pounds of weight concentrated on three or four small areas?

RayP(MI),

That's kind of what I was thinking... use a tall stool for where the seat would be. Then do a sort of two dimensional front/side view and paint it up. Could even make cardboard wheels pretty easily to give it more dimension.

As another stated, I would be worried about the weight on the stage - even if one could get a tractor up there.

I'd be pretty nervouse putting that much weight on a stage.

I'd fake it out of wood - maybe find a good hood and grill somewhere to make it look more authentic.

You'd probably want a Farmall Cub, A or B, or a Allis B or C, all without fluid in tires or wheel weights. With those I woulnd't worry about the weight. The stage is built to handle the band or chorus, and that's going to be more than one of those little tractors. I think I'd be more concerned with liability. Schools are full of the type of folks that are looking for someone to sue, and old tractors might have sharp corners or unprotected pinch points.

Yeah - when I was in high school, Johnny Russell (Red Necks, White Socks, and Blue Ribbon Beer) came to put on a show in the gym. Us shop kids built a stage about two feet high and maybe 12 foot square. Johnny was a heavy guy, and I thought he was gonna shake it down before the night was over. I think he was purposely trying to bust it. I'm sure any school stage in the country would be much heavier built than that thing we threw together. But heavy enough for a tractor? If they have just one joist too many it will be fine. But what if they have one not enough?

Take a high res photo of an appropriate tractor, and have a local sign company make a stick on vehicle wrap to cover a cardboard foundation. Jim

You could contact this local tractor club. One of the members might have an small tractor that doesn't weigh very much. They have a tractor show & pull every year about 10 miles from Cleburne.
