Tracking???

Just listening to the weather idiots on the tube. They're 'tracking' Sandy. I had to 'track' a deer last week. Heck of a job followong the trail. My question is, how hard a job is it to 'track' something as big and obvious as an 800 mile wide hurricane?????

You'd be surprised.... They gotta stay on her else she may double back and switch course inland then up to WBGVA. Be some purty slick and muddy hillbillies slippin around in them hollers then

storms like this are very complex, its not just 'a storm' which remains the same storm throughout its life cycle, wind speed and even direction can change, its rate of travel as well as its direction of travel can and does change as well as other factors, the hurricane hunter aircraft fly almost continuous in the area even through the storm itself,[i wouldn't want to be in that plane when they did] if they dont keep an eye on it it may do something totally unexpected causing more loss and damage they thought, mainly due to people that thought they were safe, when they weren't

not hard at all, gettin the arrow in her is the trick with all that wind...once ya do that she leaves a big blood trail...

Well it is weather guessing since it is not a 100% sure thing and many factors come into play with a storm or any thing else. All it would take to get Sandy to go some place is a simple wind shift of say the jet stream and that could change the path it takes. So as I said weather is an educated guess at best

(quoted from post at 08:30:49 10/29/12) Dave, Beckley is supposed to get up to 3 ft. of snow!

think it'll get it, or just the weatherguessers tryin to drum up home depot and walmart sales??? Good Luck...

I think they are trying to track the future route, not hard to understand why,
obviously everyone knows where it has been. Everyone else is an idiot but the nonunderstanding listener.
Did you ,by any chance, track to the place where the deer is expected,at some future time, to appear, then sit down and wait for it to arrive.??
