How to wire electric controls on baler?

I bought a 30 bale thrower for my John Deere 24T baler that we bale cornstalks with and it has electric controls for the distance control and the tilt for corners and hills. The thrower came with no wiring and my dealer says it is not to be had anymore(I could not afford it if they could get it)What switchs do I buy and how do I wire it up? Both the distance and the tilt have two wires coming out and you simply reverse the wires for either direction, but how do I get a switch to do this? Where should the ground go or maybe I don't need one? Wiring is something that I am very poor at. I have trouble keeping the lights working on my tractors.I have rewired a few tractors, mainly 24 to 12 volt and making a new harness works better for me than converting the old one. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Dual Pole Double Throw I think is the name of the switch.

Any toggle switch electrically operated round baler twine arm should have that switch you need. You just have hot, ground and the two wires to the drive you want to work and it all hooks into the switch. Our NH 630 baler has that type of switch.

Sounds like you need two switches....

Ordinary four pole light switch used in three way lighting circuits with three or more switches . Won't isolate but will swap polarity.

It will be easier than you think, you need 2 double pole double throw momentary both side toggle switches. when you look at the bottom of them you will see 6 terminals, 2 on each end and 2 in the middle. Attach wire from positive to one middle terminal and ground to the other middle terminal. Make a jumper wire to attach to the positive side terminal on one end and attach the other end to the terminal on the other end of the switch on the negative side. Then attach the wires from the actuators on the bale thrower to the remaining 2 terminals and voila.

If it would be easier to visualize then these numbers would represent the terminals on the switch:

1 2 1 and 6 are connected by a jumper

3 4 2 goes to one wire of the baler actuator 5 goes to the other

5 6 3 goes to +12v 4 to ground

Then connect the dots.

NAPA has EXACTLY what you need under part # RS1010 for a paddle handle switch or RS1012 for a rocker switch. 4 terminals with the reversing jumpers already installed. Power and ground in, two wires out to motor.

How about a power mirror switch from a car/truck mirror, might have to use relays to handle the amps or maybe a controller from a hydro electric (pickup truck) snow plow?
