Small Farm Books/Magazines

I only plant food plots for wildlife: corn, milo, millet, cow peas, wheat, oats, etc. but I try to practice some type of crop rotation. Corn or milo follows cow peas, plant a mix of clover, winter pea and wheat, etc. Are there any magazines or books geared toward the small scale "farmer?" I have a subscription to Farming for Wildlife but wondered if there we any others. Course, with the net, almost any subject is at our finger tips but I like holding a magazine.

Is there a tractor supply co store near you? All around here have a good sized book rack with a dozen mags on these subjects, and more at the cash registers. Heck 'mother earth news' been around since the hippie days, small farm journal, even the horsie mags are loaded with ideas to make some pipe dreams... when I was a kid there was 'hoards dairyman'and 'American agriculturalist'.... this was before bto's didn't need such boring old fashioned stuff stuff....

Just click on General Store title and see where you want to go from there. They have lots of books and videos.

About the only place that you'll find anything that's neutral, that is,not written and published by some extremists spouting theory over fact,is the County Co-operative Extension Office.

The Net is killing off books and magazines.I should know, My mail order book business is gone.I had tractor manuals, farming books, technical books.Lindsay publications is quitting after 30 years. He calls it retiring but Ill bet on falling sales.
