Are they as tuff as they used to be?? Used to force thru briars and thorns and never get snagged... Was thinking about them a year or so ago and someone on here bragged the USA Made roundhouse's up. Got two pairs... I like them OK, but they catch every snag and thorn... See the carharrts are imported, but are they still heavy??

Thanks.

The ones I bought last year are great. I got the artic bibs for work in the winter but have used them over the summer while working in briars/poison ivy/poison oak/pricker bushes and they look like new still.

I think they have 2 quality levels: the ones that they make themselves and the ones that are import knockoffs. I've seen them in different stores; WallyWorld is selling a much lighter fabric than genuine Carharts available in some other stores.

Arctic bibs. Stay warm if not hot even on the coldest days. Use them for hunting and light repair work, nothing where they will get oil soaked.

Very tough and durable. Think they are right around $120-130. No complaints from me.

The last pair I bought is still holding up good. Of course I don't know about the new ones as these are 22 years old. Wife bought me an off brand jacket a couple years ago which I didn't care for. Returned it and got a carhart instead.

Still pretty good. They usually last me about 2 winters before they have enough holes in them that they're embarrassing to wear out in public. Then about another 2 winters after that until they don't insulate well anymore :)

I like to have a 3 pair rotation so I almost always have one that's dry.

I've given up on Carhart, Walls, etc. Too much money for what you get. Instead I go to the surplus store and buy ex-military stuff. Last winter I got a Swedish parka for $17.00, Mickey Mouse boots (WARM FEETS!) for $27.00 and saw heavy insulated bibs for $11.00. I simply can not afford to sink $90-150.00 into a coat or boots every fall.

That reminds me, I was supposed to email a factory rep about some Baffin boots we talked about here. Have to look that up.

I tried them before I retired from my Locomotive
mechanic job, but found them to be too heavy,
and overalls get terrible dirty from crawling
under Locomotive"s for inspections..I found the
Carharts harder to wash clean, they"re so heavy.
I went back to thinner bibs and long underware.

I know for sure that Walmart has an inferior model of Wrangler jeans than the farm and western stores. I've always bought them at Campbells. Last year I got a pair for Christmas from my Daughter. They were a lot different than the ones I have. She ordered them email from Walmart.

Key makes a brown duck bib that is really nice. Double fabric at knees. Not too stiff, and great for hunting and hiking.

Dave, I have ordered lots of outdoor stuff from these guys. They are easy to work with and returns are no problem. They started in a guys garage in Minneapolis years ago. Lots of stuff including army surplus. They have specials on Carhart and Wahls "seconds". My Carharts are going strong after 6 years of Iowa winters.

Bought a new pair about 6 years ago. That was about the time the last of the Carhartt Stockman's Coats were being sold. (long 4-pocket coat) Bought 'em as a set. Before that, I've had maybe 3 pairs of bibs since I turned 18 (55 now) The new(er) ones are every bit as good as the first pair I owned. I'm not so sure the insulation isn't better now than ever before. No snags or rips in 'em either.
