my five year Husky 142 has been acting up. It will start, but when you try to get to full throttle it dies. Also starts to die when cutting at the mid-throttle. It was doing this before, so I replaced the fuel line. It acted up again so I took it to the shop; they could not find a cause. Tried it after being in the shop and used it for 45 minutes and it was fine. Today it was back to doing the same thing again. New gas. Any ideas?

Is the fuel line collapsing, or deteriorated? Or a kink in the fuel line? How about the diaphragm on the carb, there should be a little hole on the metal gasket cover, that sometime over time, will get fine sawdust between the diaphragm and the metal cover, not allowing the diaphragm to work.Could it be a weak coil? maybe after it runs for a while it gets hot with a short and breaks. Just a few suggestions where to look. Hope it helps. LOU

Forgot one more, could it be a weak spark plug, internal short or grounding out??? Maybe some dirt in the carb orfices also.

On a similar saw my exhaust screen plugged, and they had to burn it clean with propane torch.Nothinghotter, cause that"ll burn out the screen.

It does sound as if the exhust is partialy pluged but if it ran fine for 45 min. after coming back from the shop you'll just have to start trouble shooting from scratch.

I'd be thinking its either the Fuel line, rotted, or Diaphragm in the carb, As this GAS these days just "Eats the Line up"... as I have to replace these Constantly, Larry
