Within 100 yards of our place is a farmer with hogs, another with pretty much everything (dairy cows, a few slaughter steers, chickens, rabbits, ducks, and geese, couple with just poultry of several types, and most all have pidgeons. Nextdoor (20+/- feet) neighbor had 6 dogs and 5 goats. Small stream goes thru the middle of town. Rats are expected but...... Aside from an occassional mouse, we've been pretty pest free...
Neighbor moved out next door so the place is empty (no food source). Now, we have rats everywhere... Sleek, shiney, healthy looking rats that are smart and brave.... Not just one or two either... Almost like the neighbor was feeding them.... Already have a barrel cut/rigged for a trap, see how many I have in the morning.....
