How do you kill the things.
Never seen so many,there every where in my yard.
Tried some weed killer but they came right back

they're a good sign - They're eating something rich and organic, breaking it down for your grass. Maybe some old tree roots?

I say let them last go for the rest of the year and see if you've still got them in the spring.

You'd need a fungicide to get rid of them.

But they'll probably come back anyways.

They like shade, if there's anything you can do about getting more sunshine in. They like to be wet too - in case you're over watering.

Aerating the soil wouldn't be a bad idea - get it to drain and breathe a little better

If you're on a tight budget, I've heard of using mouthwash to solve the problem. Like a cup per gallon of water - sprayed on the area. But I've never tried it.
