injecter pump weeps a little....

IP on my tractor is always moist and maybe looses a drop or two over a couple days..... Will ATF in the fuel do any good, or is this just normal for the newer fuel?? Been watching for another pump just in case, but folks are a liiiiittle proud of them.....

My JD 2640 was leaking bad, Dealer rebuilt it. Lasted about two months. I'm going to put new O rings on each side of the injecter lines, and if that doesn't work then I will try copper washers. I torque them down, but they don't stay. Maybe need a lock washer. Not sure about using Lock tight, etc.

You just need to use the correct soft steel washers # 22 on both side of the injector lines. after the tractor has been run 20-30 hours re-torque the lines.

They do not use rubber o-rings there. Also NEVER use loctite on injector line bolts. You will ruin the injection pump head.

question, the clamp type spacer that holds my lines has no rubber pads under it and the lines are worn into. Will a tire inner tube strip work or melt under the heat?

Usually throttle shaft seals or banjo-washers at the injector line (if Stanadyne pump and not CAV). If the steel washers do not seal perfectly, copper washers will often fix the problem.
