The boy's back from his moose hunt in Sweden. He took a whole bunch of pictures, has some good stories, but didn't get a moose. The house and barn belong to Thoger, the guy he stayed with. The older looking house is the hunting cabin I guess.

Ya,he just can't tell them in Swedish. lol Because of his name,Jon Lund, most everybody in camp thought he was local and spoke the language. Said he was there for two days before they figured out he didn't. Thoger and his son were the only ones who knew he didn't.
He said every night after that, they would set there and write words in English and Swedish trying to teach him,but he said he got absolutely nothing out of it. Said he'll have to get that Rosetta Stone program before he ever goes back.
Said there was only one other guy in camp who spoke English. Said all that stuff about everybody there speeking English was BS. Said there weren't more than 5 people that he ran into on the whole trip who did.

I hope he didn't go especially to get a moose. Near me in northern NH you have to be really careful not to run into them on the road.

Pretty country. Looks just like it's neighbor- Norway. Hard to believe it's been forty years since I was there.....

Naw,he just took a free Swedish vacation. Thoger told him he'd pay for everything if he could bring his son and another guy over here with him when he comes deer hunting on our place next month. I don't think they're gonna have any better luck with the deer. They're all dead from EHD. Thoger said he wanted to see the UP anyway. They might at least have to go as far as the cabin near Grayling if they want a deer.

The second and third pics are awesome, I love that kinda view! If u don't mind I'm gonna save them! Lol

Hopefully they'll have good luck.
I drove home from Hubbardston about 8:30 last night, I couldn't go more than half a mile without seeing a deer. Never got over 45 MPH.
I didn't see any big bucks, but there were certainly a lot of deer around!

Well,I kinda know. The shop where my son works builds guns and accessories, like silencers, and Thoger is their European distributor. So I think they're just out playing with their toys.

They claim the Sheridan area is the hardest hit in Montcalm County. I haven't seen a live one in well over a month. Not even any tracks.

We're about 18 miles north of rr, not seeing the usual numbers of deer around here either. Think the EHD has really cut the numbers, but haven't found any downed by it here locally.

I'm not far away Ray, about 10 miles SE of RR.
I can't say we have quite as many as usual, but definitely a lot on the roads last night.
All shotgun territory here, so we have to see them fairly close.
I carry my muzzle loader a lot of the time. Gives me a little more range.
I wish them the best of luck!
