A couple years ago I found a Ford Flathead V8 on Craigslist, that was taken apart with a lot of parts missing. I had to locate water pumps, generator, heads, distributor, fuel pump, rings, oil pump, intake manifold, carburator and alot of misc. items. Found most of the items at a swap meet held at a local Antique tractor show and the rest I got on Ebay. Finally got it done and it's going to be a back up engine on my '33 Ford Model BB that was also started as a project.

I wonder if it could also be used in a Ford 8N coversion?

Hope you enjoyed the video. I just love the sound of a Flathead V8.

Very nice job! Even nicer to see the flathead than a chromed up "ho hum" small block in the boiler room!

The flatties are a great engine. Ran one in my model A for years. A whopping 65hp, never failed to start, and rolled on down the road just fine.

ran a many of those old flatheads back in the day.I always thought they just looked better in one and makes a nice clean installation. good looking truck!

First, allow me to congratulate you on job well done on the truck!
Second, you may could use that engine in an 8N conversion, I honestly don't know what years they used in the professionally installed versions. But, personally, If I were going to with a conversion, I would go with one of the later flatheads with the top mounted disributor, they are much easier to tune up.

The Ford flat head V-8 has been installed in an 8N by Marvin Baumann. He has done quite a few 8N conversions, even a jet power version. He use to take them to shows in Michigan and Ohio and they are very interesting tractors.

soder 33,
Geez, beautiful restoration - really nice truck. Great video. Have to show my husband.

He will get our Regular engine running on a stand too - so I won't get to video it running in the tractor the very first time.

If you make the engine to trans adapter it should work. If you plan on using a Funk adapter I think you need a 48-53 truck or 49 -53 car block.I am not certain but I think that is the way it works.

Really brings back the memories. About 50 years ago I had a '48 club coupe. Love those flat heads. Dale
