Someone suggested Jegs on a recent post, has a screw on vent cap, I would say one of these would be just fine, a giant red clorox container with a vent !
I don't think there is one person who has anything good to say about the half @ss attempt to create a safer container for gasoline leading to what's commonly available today. Its really funny that the result of their work, to improve safety on something you just cannot improve, lands on the shelf, people buy them and they do not work, are restrictive in flow, cause people to modify existing, new or older containers which may or may not be as safe. Its an "overthunk" (my word LOL!) farce !!! I mean, someone had to re-design the safer safety can and show the modification on you tube, what does that tell you, (new safety can designer) LOL !!!!
You take a container, you put a filler neck with a cap on it, you put smaller vent neck and cap, DONE !!! And it works fine ! You can't improve on that, well maybe the steel OSHA approved safety cans, which may be about double the cost of one of the below, and you have to figure out how to keep them from rusting, (keep full?), they do pour just fine and meet a requirement, I've used them, don't own any though.
I realize people are so different, have predisposed and unsafe "notions" about gasoline, so put a highly visible warning label on the container, one that will not fade, come off or what have you. Yes folks, its gasoline, low flash point, highly flammable, highly dangerous if mishandled. It has explosive vapors that will detonate from a spark, end of warning, but they make the rest of us suffer with these silly and less safe (which they think are safer) replacements so they can appease ignorance ?
