My wife was getting her hair cut then going swimmming yesterday, I was doing the driving. While she was I away I went for a walk near two small coastal villages, Cruden Bay and Boddam both approximately 30 miles north of Aberdeen and facing the North Sea.
Boddam was where my great grandfather was brought up and stayed before emigrating to Canada in the early 1900's.
Both villages were fishing based and I guess some people are still employed in this area but probably not many these days.
Picture shows a Nuffied which is used to pull small boats up the slip way at the small harbour.
Lighthouse is at Boddam, I remember climbing to the top of this when I was approximaley 10 years old, it was quite fascinating at the time.
Ruin in the background shows Slains Castle which is said to have connections with Dracula.
Hope you enjoy these.
