Pictures from the North East of Scotland

My wife was getting her hair cut then going swimmming yesterday, I was doing the driving. While she was I away I went for a walk near two small coastal villages, Cruden Bay and Boddam both approximately 30 miles north of Aberdeen and facing the North Sea.
Boddam was where my great grandfather was brought up and stayed before emigrating to Canada in the early 1900's.
Both villages were fishing based and I guess some people are still employed in this area but probably not many these days.
Picture shows a Nuffied which is used to pull small boats up the slip way at the small harbour.
Lighthouse is at Boddam, I remember climbing to the top of this when I was approximaley 10 years old, it was quite fascinating at the time.
Ruin in the background shows Slains Castle which is said to have connections with Dracula.
Hope you enjoy these.

Nice photos Bill

We are several hundred miles south west of you, and the views of the weather off the coast is the same here!

Wonderful pics. I probably will never make it there, but your pics sure are getting me closer. Looking forward to the next batch of pics.

WOW!!! Those are georgeous views. Now I have the urge to do a little traveling, too bad I don't have the money. The picture with the castle in the distance is my favorite.

WOW! Beautiful. Always wanted to see that part of the world but never will. My mother's mother was from Finland and her husband was from Norway. Guess they came to this country in the late eighteen hundreds. My mom used to tell me that somebody back in the family tree owned a castle. She never would check to see if we could find it tho. We are supposed to be decended from some kind of royal family over there but I never did find out who they were.

Beautiful and very professional photos! For some reason, photos such as this mean more to me than those in a book or magazine. I was going to ask if the bungalow, (casle) might be for rent. LOL I have always wanted to visit Scotland. It may be that according to info my son found, we have a wee bit o'Scottish blood flowing in our veins.
