Sweetfeet, results of fluidfilm on rusty Regular

Hey Sweetfeet, it's been over 3 wks since I sprayed Fluidfilm on my rusty regular and I like it. It has dried to a hard finish but still looks like it's wet, though completly dry to the touch. I plan on using it by the case.

It is a sticky lube that is good stuff. I got a can from a friend and it is the consistency of sprayed snot. It just sticks. Good for putting things together so that they slide past each other. Also good for preventing rust. Friend used to sell pumps that would pump it out of a 55 gallon drum and get sprayed on the insides of ships to prevent rust.

I sprayed it in every hole I could find when replacing my jeep YJ frame. These box frames rot from the inside out.

Regula Rog,
Any chance you can post a photo? Would love to see it. Thanks for posting back your results.

I need to find a hunk of rust soon - maybe an old 50 gallon drum and try fluidfilm (providing I can find some), oil, diesel, and any others mentioned as preservatives. I want to see the long term results over a winter through the next summer. Thanks again.

Jimmy, fluidfilm is a an aerosol spray rust preventive. It's made of lanolin so not petroleum based. If sprayed on rusty or faded old tractors it gives them a deep rich wet look but dries to a hard protective finish. Not sure how it would hold up totally outside in the elements, tho. Maybe if Sweetfeet tries that she can keep us posted as to how it stands up to the elements. You should be able to get it at your local caseih dealer. Part number MCAS11.
