I need help locating a used starter for my 36 oliver 70. I really just need a nose cone. This is a 2 bolt flange. I would really appreciate the help to find one.

I don't think there were more than a dozen or so starter varieties back in those days but since we don't have skilled labor on parts counters anymore they cant't look at it and get you the one you need. Might try looking online at a parts look up for oliver tractors or even NAPA or fleet parts vendors and see if you can reverse cross to something more common. Or see if there is an online Hollander manual that can ID your starter. Example starter from a '46 Chev 1 1/2 ton will bolt into a Willys M-38 Army Jeep, it's just the 24 volt system really makes the 6 volt starter jump. If you can identify a CAR that used it Hemmings motor news will give you sources for vendors in starters and generators and repairs they could probably get you a nose cone for a reasonable price.

I'm about positive one from an H or M Farmall will bolt up,but it would turn the engine backwards since they went in from the back on the Farmalls and the front on the Olivers. The nose cone would most likely be the same though.

My 1960 Autolite Farm Equipment catalog does not
list Oliver Tractors...so they must have used Delco!

If all you need is the nose cone, and the Farmall H/M starter is the same, you should be able to swap the nose cone off an H/M starter. It's just two bolts.
