I have a small veg. operation, needed a skid steer. bought Gehl 2600 in excellent shape dirt cheap. I would like to know the year, serial # 768 but can find no sites on the web or from any dealers I called. I assume its one of the first made. I was also wondering if any one has added the aux. valve. Can anyone help? Thanks, Gary

Don't have a lot. but they were made from 77-81, had a 25 horse Onan and lift capacity of 800# and weighed in at 2851#.

I searched the parts catalog & found #199 to be the lowest serial number listed. You could try contacting Gehl outright. They might have the info, yet. It seems some inconsiderate putz started pitching history into the garbage, back in the late '80s, so some info has been lost. Certainly worth a shot, though.

The Gehl 2600 is an updated version of the 2500. The 2500 was made by Hydra Mac and is the same as a 5B model. You may be able to get some info and parts from a Hydra Mac dealer. The 2600 was actually built in the Gehl factory after they had bought the manufacturing rights. A lot of the parts are the same.
