has anyone used fence like this???

Dave, there"s a guy right down the road from me with this stuff and it"s a pretty good looking fence....but from 20 feet away you cant tell it apart from the white electric rope fence that I"m using on the back side of my place. Have you checked out electric rope?

used the tape and the rope stuff,,thats a joke. wound up putting up the smooth twisted wire.this might work though. its different from what i used.

Using tape and rope now on several pastures. I like this stuff cause it seems to be a good compromise to high tensile fence and less than 25% the price of panels......

Neighbor is boarding horses and is using it. Stuff looks nice and seems to be very effective.

Dave I"ve got Electrobraid and have never had a problem with it. It does everything it says it does. Trees have fallen on it and all you do is cut them off and it springs back.
I put 3 strands up around 3 acres all by myself.
Most important factor is how safe it is for the horses.
Its been up about 10 yrs and still has the same charger on it and will light a$$ up.

I would be curious to how well the polyethylene holds up to the UV. Your in a colder environment there in Germany, but here in S. TX the sun just kills anything made of plastic in short order.

Sister-in-law has some of it. It seems to work well and looks good. The only thing about it is that it seems to need a pretty hot fence charger. She had a solar powered one at first and the horses would get out. She went to a better charger and has not had any more issues.

She plans to finish the rest of the pasture with it this coming spring.

never thought of the charger... It'll be a 12 volt battery one but the fence (with this stuff) will only be about 150 ft x 3 or 4 strands.... We'll see...

Dave, I've used Electrobrad too fro abut 12 years for my horses. Easy to move, maintain and instal. It is easy for them to see and nearly indestructable too.

Any electric fence in my area gets torn up by deer on a regular basis.Plus when you put up an electric fence the work has just started as they constantly need maintenance/attention.

Is the electrobraid stuff stretched tight? Or will making it tight break the wires so the electric won't travel right? The place I want to enclose is 70x40 with a couple gates. The more I think about it, for the same money or less, I could put 4 or 5 strands of hightensile and a run of band for visibility... The horses aren't freaks, but I'd like to be able to put a mare and foal there when they are born before pasture time. Can't afford the foal getting thru or stuck.

Dave just read your other post about being able to get 3 x 3 Locust post. What about using them and just using wire cattle panels. If your lot is 70 feet x 40 feet then you only need 7 panels. They are 16 foot long and 50 inches tall. They are $23 each here. That is only $161. I know setting the post would be more work but this style pen would be more maintenance free after that.

If the horses would ride the top of the panels down then just put a single strand of electric tape/rope on the top. The panels with the 6 inch square wire pattern would not have any risk of a colt getting hurt or out.

Haven't seen the panels you are talking about here... just the solid (pipe) corral panels that are pricey... Was all set to put them in til I saw this other stuff... And, the day SWMBO was cleaning up the other paddock that I already have them on in front of a thunder/lightning storm has me thinking twice.....
