I need a couple for emergency tire repairs (front tractor tires and smaller).
Any idea where I can order them and suggestions on the best style (just spoons??) ?

Most parts stores here will have them.Gemplers
,Millers are also places to look.Buy a set made for
'semi tires'-a straight spoon on one end and a
curved spoon on the other about 30-36" long.A "too
small" iron will cause lots of grief

When I started out I used thin tapered leaf springs and when I got $ able I dicarded them and bought KEN brand irons. Later i found another spring and wonder why I ever bought tire irons. I would think that a Stanley Wonder Bar Would also do a good job. I also used a DeLaval cream separator wtrench for a Bendix brake adjusting too until I could afford a real brake adjusting tool. The old wrench was just as good. I remember, "A tool is an extension of the hand"

I have made many of my tools and most of you would laugh at them.

Been using large screwdrivers for over 60 years. Never let me down yet. Get the bead down in the center of the rim on one side and pry the opposit side up over the rim. Keep the bead down with your knee and start working both sides of the first screwdriver back and fourth and presto you have it off. I have a tire spoon and a tire hook iron thingie I use some on the big tires.

Used all types and curved spoon beats them all. Tough to find lower cost new ones that are as good as the old ones. If wanting to go cheap and good, go to an estate auction and even then they might not go cheap if someone else is interested.

I use the 36" Ken-Tool tubeless tire bars. One straight end with a rim lip and one curved/scoop end. They aren't cheap tho...

Thanks folks..... Looking at them prices then getting them sent to me, I'll look again here. 5 shops within 5 miles of me also, be cheaper to just have the occasional flat repaired instead of collecting tools for a maybe.....

Make em yourself. Find a piece of 1" round stock
about 4 feet long an do some blacksmithing on the
end of it until you're happy with the shape. Made
more than a few of them for myself and some friends.
I like them better than the ones I bought. Kippster
