Will pool pump work for shallow well pump?

can I use a pool pump for a shallow well pump? It only needs to lift water 4 feet. If not how can I modify it. only need a minimal volume.

A pool pump is just about the opposite of what you want----it's designed to move a large volume at low pressure.

to me it seems like all the modifications needed to make a system with a pool pump is gonna be more than just buying a small shallow well pump/bladder/pressure switch

If you just want a pump and don't need pressure tank etc there are some small gas powered pumps that can send water a ways. Tsc had one a Mitsubishi I think or maybe Honda
