Everything I've been interested in sold for about twice what it was worth,
and don't forget the drive to inspect the item if its not local.

I've never participated in one, and probably won't, simply because of the hassle involved. I'd have to drive to the location to look at what I'm interested in, then come back home to do my bidding, and if I won the bid, I'd have to drive out there again to get it.
