Yep towed it in yesterday and started the job this morning. So far I have the wheel off the 4 brake backing plate nuts loose and 3 of those bolts loose but the last one does not want to move. Guess time for the heat. What I have found that is not good was missing cotter pins and the wheel bearing cotter pin was about 1/2 inch long so it could have fell out and then the front wheel fall off. Came in to take a brake so figured I would check what was going on here. Sure sucks not to be able to work for hours at a time any more

been a long time since i've seen one of those--are the replacement bushings nylon/teflon/plastic or brass? recall some of the larger G.M. axles i used to do were available both ways--good luck

I remember doing the king pin jobs on several "50's era Ford pickups. The bushings were brass, and an old timer showed me to take a good used king pin, grind it absolutely flat on one end, then drive it thru as a reamer for the brass king pin bushings. Results in good tight bushings and a good tight front end. I still have the home-made reamer.
