Thought of you first off OLD...

Got a buddy spends about every free minute on or with his Harley. Clocks up some hefty miles all over Europe... He made a comment that he's been tired and sleeping a lot after some couple hundred mile rides. Bein the good guy I am and concerned for his welfare, I found him a couple options that may fit a little better as he ages... Maybe a couple of you hardcore, bug in the teeth savages could benefit also....

Always helpful and thinkin about my friends...
BTW..... Both have manpurse compartments....

Yea... Some have two wheels on the front. Some even bigger versions of these also. The Polizei uses quite a few of them...

You will look good riding that into Sturgis. Be sure to wave your purse when going down Main St.

Here's my beginner's scooter I had as a kid, an American Moto-Scoot, fixed it up last year, had been sitting in the barn. Also the Yahama I've had a long while behind it.

Dave this is one of the few I will answer that is yours.
Any how Yep been riding now for 42 plus years, do not ride as much as I did in the past any more the old legs will not take it. Now if you could just fine me say a 1967 BMW R60S over there and send it to me that would be just the bike I want and have yes been looking for every since my brother sold the one we had. Now the picture of that BMW you posted is what my wife would like to have

The BMW scooter was a design study a few years back for a "safety" scooter, demonstrator got some interest and the government gave some tax breaks for some initial production- and the gas price jump made any little scooter a potential market profit maker, combine with some safety regulations in some niche markets, government that wants employment figure up and willing to let some tax"s slide for the factory workers paychecks and you have a possible market succes. couple cycle magazines road tests indicate it actually performs fairly good, is competitive with other scooter about same size.
A R60 with hard valve seats and alcohal capable fuel system for current fuel would be nice- The R69/2, and R75/5 were potential trouble with unleaded fuel 1980s so replaced at the time with Honda Goldwing- kept R69/2 and R50/2 until couple years ago until storage space not available, then they and most of collection/packrat acumulation had to go. Old Wing still runs good locally- concern now is the ethanol mix"s that are only thing available during some runs, had to have fuel pump and carbs rebuilt couple years back and now try to stick to straight gas.
Fuzzy scooter is a antitheft device- no sober thief will want to steal it, the stoners can"t ride away and are too stoned to pick it up- only concern is Rue Paul wannabee, gay crowd and feminist thieves.

I have nothing against that bike as a safer alternative to the conventional motorcycle/high fuel economy vehicle, but it'd be hard to take a cop seriously if he/she was riding that.

You may call them ugly but back in WW2 Harley Davidson was made by the U.S. gov to make a replica of the BMW due to the fact the H/D did not hold up in the hot desert areas. The BMW is one of the few bikes that you change the oil and tune it up and ride it and that is about all you ever do for years and years and years of riding. They are the best bike on the road and there is even a warranty on them that if you can knock off one of the jugs on that engine they will give you ANY bike you want and NO ONE has yet to do so and of course live
