My Brother's deere, anyway, 3 banger diesel, had some water/ black particles, block up the fuel filter, so he changed out the filter, I checked the thing out this morning, dumped in a little Diesel 911, in the tank, long and short of it is, can't get it to rev over about 15-1800 rpm. Book says it is self priming, but my experience says it appears air bound. Anybody have this problem?

I just had to get my injector pump rebuilt. First, I put in some dirty fuel and assumed that was the problem, so changed out the filters, which were in fact dirty. Got 30 minutes of run time then stall. Searched on this site, read that if there are black granules in the pump timing window, governor disk is shot, pump is done. However, my JD 4010 is almost 50 years old.

Nah, the 4100 is a Jap compact diesel. Found out what happened, I ignored the ignorance quotient! Brother smartest dumped some gasoline (and water) in the tank, stead of diesel! Figgered I owed an explanation to those who read the post. He said he started smelling the fuel, and put 2 and 2 together. I'm not saying I could never do this, but I haven't so far...

I hope you are lucky enough to not have damaged anything. Gas will ruin an injection pump in a short while. The fuel system depends on the diesel fuel for lubrication. Gas does not work very well.

Drain and clean the tank an fill it with fresh fuel with a good conditioner. It should be OK.
