...since you're still here (thankfully, after the bush hogging on the hill story) - thought you might enjoy another nostalgia song I found today.

Just bought it and reburned our most current CD we are building upon. Now time to go join my better-half in the shop so we can listen to it while I grill some pork chops and sweet corn and he works on the old Regular. Couldn't be a better holiday weekend!

discovered somethin today, dunno if you are aware of it. my farmall h 12v genny quit charging, so as i got rained out this morning mowing, i figured i'd see whats wrong. had a copy of the handy dandy john t charging system diagnostic proceedure and song book, tested and the genny wasnt charging, so i figured i'd pull the genny, clean up the brushes, giver er a good cleaning and then do the motor test. being kind of damp from gettin caught in the rain, took a seat on the lawn chair in the barn, had a 12v car battery on the ground, held the genny with my knees, set of jumper cables and a jump wire to ground the field. grounded the field, hooked up the jumper cable to the genny case, then touched the positive to the arm terminal (tractor is 12v neg ground). holy cr*p!!!!!! never knew a genny could put out that kind of voltage!!!! retrieved the genny from about 10 feet away, checked to see if anybody saw that, then put the tractor back together. genny charges now. figured i'd pass along that important saftey tip to ya!!!!!!!

glennster, The important safety tip is to make sure no one saw you, right? Easiest way to avoid any injury/embarasment is to have kruser do it.......while you hold his beer!

Good song, Id never heard it before. Thanks. We just came from a wedding it was like the third one where the dad dances with his daughter as they played "I loved her first" tears me up. We were at a funeral last week when they played Alan Jacksons "Remember When"

Love them kinda songs

PS The open unloaded output of a genny can get wayyyyyyyyyy higher then the voltage it can raise a battery to.....

it was one of them "who'd a thunk that would happen moments" i NEVER would a thought a genny could put out that kind of voltage!!! at the time, holding the darn thing tween my knees seemed like such a good idea, i figured that would dampen the torque when the genny motored, instead of trying it on the workbench. next time, i'll leave it mounted to the tractor when i try that.

John T,

"I Loved Her First" was the song that played while my husband walked our daughter up to give her away at her wedding on our farm. Made us both teary.
