Never been there when it was in bloom with wildflowers like this. (I'm a country girl, I know...they're weeds! But when they are not in your field, they really are beautiful. Plus, I love the way flowers look with rust).

Wanted to get a shot of that Mullein I posted earlier this summer - but they had dozed a new path and it was gone.

its blooming alright lol nice pics and how complete was the late 60's early '70's ford in the pic? the problem with tractor junkyards is you cant take it all home

First picture is heart breaking. That Oliver would look MUCH better sitting in one of my buildings.

ericlb,

Not sure how complete the truck was - motor could be missing for all I know. Could not get close to a lot of stuff... had about 25 stitches in my arm/shoulder from surgery about one week prior to trip. So I had to keep mostly on the dirt paths - no forging through jungle that day. Here are some other views though.

rrlund,
I know! I wish they all could be restored... well at least gotten running - I prefer rust over paint.

JMS/.MN,

Nope. But it is on a road near a "Vine Covered Tree". I could tell you where, but then my husband would have to "off me"... and that would be sad. LOL.

Really makes me sad to see the old stuff rusting away.

There was a place nw of Paris, Tx that had acres of old tractors & farm equipment lined up rusting away. Fellow that had it wouldn"t sell anything. Just let it rot.

Nancy,
Agreed, it is sad. Maybe that is why I'm drawn to photograph them.

I too, never understand people who collect it and put it in piles, but will not sell anything. The guy where we bought our Regular is kind of like that - though I believe he has thoughts of restoring and displaying 1 of everything "Farmall". Sad thing is, it will never happen - he is not mechanically inclined, and perhaps not a very driven person.

'Feet,you do good work,keep it up.My wife also loves the"wildflowers"(she's a country girl,too,raised on an 8000' high-altitude cattle ranch).Thanks for posting!Steve&Susan

DeltaRed,
Thanks! It is fun.

If you and your wife go up into the mountains (with your tractor of course to keep on topic...smile), I'd love to see photos of the mountains or any rural scenery.

Sadly, when I was a teen I visited Colorado at least 5 times (once for over a month) and NO ONE would drive me up into the mountains. We were at Greely area (probably a huge town now days) - so it was not far from the base of the Rockies. But they all had been there/done that so I out of luck. *If only I'd had a driver's license and a digital camera back then.

SweetFeet, I am an old country boy myself and grew up pulling weeds from around everything we planted, but I agree with you, If it ain't in the way, some of those weeds are rather attractive when in bloom. I also agree with Nancy Howell, (as many on this site do) that it is a sad situation to see old iron, be it farm equipment or autos and trucks, sitting around rusting into the ground when there are many who would like to get their hands on them to restore. I guess I was born with that feeling, because when I was a kid in my pre-teen years, I would go to a junkyard with Dad and look at the rows and rows of old cars and think, "Man, I sure would like to have some of those."

Very pretty pictures, but, watch out for wasps, bees, and snakes when around folage in junkyards.

Just luv dem dirty pictures. pleeze post mor. thnks

I like the tractor in the foreground of the old Ford truck. Must be the proto type for ROP- haha.
As always thanks so much for sharing!

Guido,

Thanks!

Any ideas, other than reducing the resolution and putting a watermark on them?

Harold H,

I did find a nest of black wasps/hornets when I opened a toolbox lid on a tractor (won't do that again). But thankfully did not get stung - my husband was nearby and saved me by taking them out of action with some WD40.

Hello sweetfeet,
Both the water mark and the low resoution, are a good way. Some camera's have a PROTECT IMAGE option, that does not allow the picture to be hijacked. I'm not sure how it works. Some sites that support albums have the pictures protected that way. I don't use none of them, so I don't know how they do it. More home work for you.
Guido.

Guido,

Thanks, will look into photo protection in my camera.

You guys are giving me an awful lot of photography homework these days. Guess I'm going to have to tell my husband that I need to quit my job...or I may need to stop getting up at 4:30 am to cook him breakfast before work - 'cuz I'm just too busy. LOL.

ShadetreeRet,

I agree it is sad. But I assume there will be an auction someday when they "send the old man home"... which is a sad thought, because he is the sweetest old feller we ever met. I even took some photos of him last time. That was supposed to be our last trip - but hoping we find that we are in need some small part hoping the old man is still there.

Ramblin Man,

Thanks.

I think I usually have watermarked my junkyard pics. I don't usually take the time to do it with ones from tractors shows though.
