I understand that we Americans can no longer buy our medication from Canadian Pharmaceys any more.

I have gotten mine there the last ten years with no problems and they are affordable and much cheaper than what our pharmacys are.

I just got a mailing from one on Sat. They had hundreds of meds way cheaper than US prices. didn"t have mine. My doc worries about quality control and quality too.

Quality? Did Canada just become a third world nation?

America subsidizes the world where pharmacuticals are concerned. That's the problem!

It taked a lot of money to develop a new drug - and Americans pay for that development.

Sorry, this is just one of those issues that gets me hot under the collar. Let everyone share in the expense and the price will then be fair for everyone. Level the playing field.

Just read an article that said it all came down to price controls imposed by nations like Canada. The article also said that "in recent months, congress has introduced bills to stop drug price discrimination".

Guess when that article was written?

Wait for it...

We see how well that went.

We've got the same QC here. The labs have to pass FDA standards up here too. A lot of or drugs come from the US too, they sell them cheaper here because our gov won't pay too much for them.

The purchasers (provincial governments) have the negotiating power more than individual insurance companies.

Actually Americans pay for it twice, lot of pharmaceutical development is done with federal grant money and then we pay at the counter too.

You can still buy meds in Mexico; remember to take your passport with you or your won't be able to get back into the U.S.

Type in Algodones, Mexico; they have a website.

Not really. It has to be one of those politically correct drugs like ESCR or a treatment/cure for AIDs (apparently keeping it in your pants isn't good enough).

Need a drug for high blood pressure or epilepsy - you better hope the drug companies are making enough to bring one to market.

I can t tell you about now, but before the insurance we have now, we bought all our meds through Canada. (Google search) If you can t or even if you can, ask at the Dr. office and at the Pharmacy for help if available. I have a med that is 150.00 after insurance pays, the drug company gives me a card, and I now pay $10.00, all I did was ask my Dr., and he handed me a card.

You can only shake your head......... That 10 bucks you're paying is prolly all the cost it took to produce and package it and a small profit. The rest is nothing more than dishonest price gouging and taking advantage of the sick...

For the past 5 years or so I felt like I was being raped every time I went to get my insulin. $135 each bottle and I use 3 bottles per month. Unfortunately that was one of 16-20 perscriptions I have each month. No wonder the iron was put on hold. LOL. Finally got on disability after my heart attack and Stevens Johnson issues. Grand total I was paying over $1000 a month for my meds before disability and now I don't feel guilty with the $60 co-pay today.
