There is this tractor close to where i live that im interested in knowing more about. It is a farmall. The platform stand a little over 5 ft tall, it is a tricycle front. i figured it was either used in orchard to stand on as workers picked fruit of used to detassle from. The guy that has it now will only say that there were only 11 made. trying to add pictures

One of two options, Post in the help identify on the left, or email
me the pics and I'll post. you are a new(er) member and it takes a
few days to post pics.

Thank you it should be up now

Looks like an H or M from the steering shaft, but beyond that I have no idea. Must be up on some sort of platform for spraying or something?

I would also say an H or M, but the grill looks like it might have been IHC cream color. Post zoom in photos of both sides of engine, and of the steering area.

The small local seed corn company I worked for two summers when I was a teenager ( over 50 years ago) had some de-tasseling machines made from Model A Ford conversions.

The last summer I worked for them they bought some custom made machines that had a 2 cylinder Onan engine mounted directly on the front wheel.

All of those machines had 2 rows of planks on each side of the power unit so that de-tasselers riding on the planks could reach 6 rows of corn each pass through the field.

If it does not have four planks or platforms, I would guess it was for some other purpose than de-tasseling.

I have never seen one made from a Farmall as this one appears to be, I am almost certain it would have been a custom modification.

the guy that owns it is known to cobble things together and leaves his restored tractors outside all year. so it might be a cobbled homemade thing. he said it came from florida

I "THINK" those were an aftermarket type of deal made for using a tractor in high crops, and maybe rice fields. saw two of the frames at a auction not long ago. i cant recall the name of the company that made them though. the only one i ever saw actually working was being used to spray a crop of corn.sort of a channel and angle iron frame that raised the body and mainframe of the tractor higher, and chain drove the rears, and had a extension shaft for the front. the kits i saw looked like they would raise it maybe six foot or so and had a ladder for getting on tractor. they did have a walkway around so they could have been used for spraying trees i guess, maybe for harvesting, but they had no rails just a flat platform maybe three foot wide going around tractor. they were commercialy made,i just cant remember the name of the company.
