O/T Was I near you?

Made a trip week before last and saw a lot of pretty country. Did I come close to any of you YT guys.
Left Clarksville TN and traveled to Omaha NE. Lest Omaha and traveled over to Madison and from there went west to Fremont then turned northwest and traveled through West Point taking US 275 and US 20 over to Ainsworth. Then on over to Valentine where we picked up 83 going North to white River SD. There we jumped on 44 and to Interior SD. Really beautiful country. Toured the Badlands (2nd time for me in 4 years) went over to Rushmore then to Crazy Horse (still highly impressed with this). We left Crazy Horse and drove up to Sturgis. Been there 1 time enough for me. We left Sturgis got on 212 and drove over to Billings. Beautiful landscape. Then it was a trip to Yellowstone. Out Yellowstone to Jackson WY. From Jackson we traveled down to Baggs WY. Drove 30 miles or more through oil fields just following the GPS not knowing exactly where I was but it was a very interesting trip. I like to get off the main roads and see the country. We left Baggs and drove to Wolcott CO. From there to Denver and down to Colorado Springs. We left Colorado Springs on Hwy 24 heading back to I70 to return home. Saw a lot of pretty country, a lot of old tractors. Total 4200 miles in 10 days. A great trip. Was I near any of you?

Sounds like you were near a lot of people! I'm about 2 hours north of Omaha, still on the good side of the river(Nebraska). My family and I went out that way about 2 months ago. I really enjoy that area also. If you ever get a chance maybe try Fort Robinson near Crawford Nebraska, or canoeing/rafting down the Niobrara river below Valentine. Sounds like a great trip. Maybe someday I will get to see some of those other places you visited. Any pictures?

I live about 30 mile mostly straight south of the west Omaha area so depending on how you got to highway 275, you would have been 25miles or less from me.

If you brought I29 into Omaha you were within 25 miles of me. You may have been closer if you travelled north on one of the 2 lane highways on the Nebraska side of the river.

Just east of Omaha (on the Iowa side). You must have traveled some of the same roads I took to come home back when I worked in NC and GA. I put on some training in White River a few years ago. Nice country. If SE IA wasn't home, central SD might be. Or maybe north GA/eastern NC/western TN. Or maybe the UP of MI. We have a great country. I am fortunate to have lived all over it. Glad to be back home.
