Hollywood losses

Been a heck of a past seven days. Probably most important to me was William Windom. Great in everything he did whether it was The Twilight Zone, Star Trek, and Murder, She Wrote. I want to view the two series he did back in the 1960's.
Phyllis Diller was a ground breaker for female comedians and todays' "acts" could certainly learn something from her humility.
Ron Palillo and Tony Scott.

I recall hearing about Phyliss Diller but in general my lifes not affected much by what goes on in Hollywood land and they probably dont worry about me much either I suspect lol. I felt more of a loss when Bob Hope passed, now there was a true American patriot in my opinion.

I kind of identify with the words of an old song (I'm sure some here will know it and the composer)

"Now he lives in the islands, fishes the pylons and drinks his Green Label each day, writing his memoirs loosin his hearing BUT HE DONT CARE WHAT MOST PEOPLE SAY, through 86 years of perpetual motion if he likes you he'll smile and he'll say, Jimmy some of its magic and some of its tragic, BUT ITS BEEN A GOOD LIFE ALL THE WAY"

I dont care much what Hollywood says or does you see but I did respect Bob Hope for all his USO tours, I think he loved this country and our brave troops a lot more then Hanoi Jane Fonda and Rosie O Donnell and Sean Penn and Barbra Streisand.....

God Bless yall, take care

Yeah, the really great ones are either already gone or are going fast. Those filling their shoes are few and far between. BTW, saw where Rosie O'Donnell had a heart attack. I thought you had to have a heart to do that.

What it called a comedian today is nothing but filthy disgusting language. They cannot hold a candle to the likes of Phyllis Diller, Bob Hope or Jerry Lewis. The so called comedians of today could definitely take some lessons from these folks. That is why I watch RFDTV, Travel Channel, or Science Channel.

Phyliss was a local girl, did not know her or her family but was from about 20 miles from me.

John T, you said you respected Bob Hope because of his USO tours, as best as I can recall, I saw Phyllis Diller with Mr. Hope onstage at Cam Ranh Bay V/N, about Dec/ 67. She asked him to accompany him on that tour.
