Threw a cap/blew a tire on the rf of my old pickup
last night,Was traveling about 55-60 mph.No one was
hurt,pickup was undamaged.Pretty scary.Thanks God!!

I blew one on my gooseneck trailer Thursday. Not the same as the truck, but irritating to say the least. That is the last one of those Cooper tires that came on the trailer. Trouble is, the replacement is a $175 Firestone.

I had the rear driver's side wheel come off a 1972 ford 3/4 before while doing 65 mph.

If you think puckering to the point of grabbing some seat cushion was just an expression you're wrong.

Glad you're okay!

TORE UP THE SIDE OF MY TRUCK AT 55 MPH.on a 95 deree day ..going thru indy few years back ,,50 ft ahead car passing in fast lane beside me flipped up piece of steel just rite, just cauht a glimpse of it before it hurtled under my dodge cummins and instantly destroyed my right rear tire ,, it tore out the side brace straps ,wrinkled the bed steel behind the wheel ,, beat chips into the paint , tore all the rubber wheel house material and yanked the sockets out of the tailite //

couple years back on four lane had semi passing me,i looked over and he had loose set duals on tractor,i touched my brakes and out the whole set came just bumped my front bumper an left me and him sailing down th lane ahead of both of us,finall we probbly went 3/4mile before thy hit bridge abutment and luckly thy flew intothe drink and made big splash. both me and two other truckers stopped tolook at damgae allgot realucky that day. they had been loose and sheared all wheel lugs clean off,he said he had just came ut of inspection someplace. still ws lucky day for me. i still get spooked when semi passes me .

I've been seeing alot more tire parts and pieces laying along the interstate this year. Maybe the heat ? plus today's tires seem to weather check quick too.

Did the exact same thing in my 1964 F250. A pucker factor of 9 with solid axles front and back with drum brakes on all four corners. When one of those 80 series tires blows you realize how tall the other three tires are when one rim is on the pavement.

Years ago I did the maintainence on the township road grader. I got a call to fix a tire on it. When I got there , the driver was still shook up. He had the right side door open and the rear tire on that side blew. It was turned just right so the concussion broke the windshield. He was along the woods and thought someone hit it with a shotgun.

Drive a tri-axle dump truck from time to time when things are slow at the farm. Roarin down the road and hurd a huge boom. About the time of the boom pieces of the hood were flyin across the windshield. Blew my LF steer tire. Feel pretty lucky I didnt roll over since I had 20 tons of gravel in the back goin 60 down the highway.Soon as it happened knew what it was and managed to get er slowed down and to the side. Got out of the truck and couldnt hardly walk I was shakin so bad.

I didn't think anyone capped tires anymore. Last time I had a tread come off of a old tire, it ruined the plastic fender on my Dodge dulley. I had just bought my Dodge and was on my way home. I knew the tire was bad, and was going to replace it when I got home. Stan
