Some pictures from around Louisiana. Sure hope I get all these pictures in the correct order.
The corn is drying down and looks good.
Some of the fields have already been harvested.
While it is hard to see this is beans. They are also looking good.
Fields of baled hay.
Even though this area gets over 50 inches of rain a year some even have a back up plan in place because July August and Sept are our driest months.
Milo I think some of you may call this Grain Sorghum.
This is rice. Most rotate these fields with crawfish. The rice subsidies have killed this crop because you can get it and never grow rice. I know one home owner that was getting a rice subside and has never grown rice or even owned a tractor.
And a field of harvested rice.
I want to say this is beans but as green as it is and knowing the location this may be young cotton.
This is sugar cane. You get a 3 cutting every 4 years. That is the reason for the fallow field in the foreground. While this is a very labor intensive crop I think the hardest part is getting a allocation to sell your crop.
I hope you enjoyed pictures from around our southern state.
