OT: Mystery tool, can you ID

Saw this tool at a swap meet. It had two long wooden pieces that fit together. It had notches cut out and pegs opposite the notches so that when you put them together they matched up. Also, in the notches were large, "staples", inserted into the wood. It looks like you put something in the notches, clamped the two pieces together and then pulled, but I have no idea and neither did the owner. Click on the link for a picture.

Those are multipurpose tools....

They cook, clean, do chores, work, plant, and harvest the garden, can and preserve, have babies, do other fun things (until you marry them), and talk a lot......

Prolly givin em away huh????

Most of those pics in the album are a school trip to China. It was suppose to be a trip to Japan, but it was the year of the tsunami.
