Hello, I have a 1130 Massey with a Perkins diesel that I purchased with the motor locked up. It was parked because of a bad water pump and a stuck clutch and neglected for a few years. You guys probably know the rest of the story, now it appears the motor is locked up. Does anybody have any suggestions for freeing the motor? Kinda stinks because you can't pull start it like the older ones that I enjoy working on but oh well. Any suggestions are always welcome! Thankyou!

Pull the injectors in each cylinder and squits a 50/50 mixture of acetone and ATF. Let set for 8-10 weeks. the cylinders that do not remain full of the 50/50 mixture is not stuck. Change oil after engine has been brought to operating temp.

ps: recently did this to a stuck Bhudda Diesel in a HD-6 Allis Chalmers Dozer. Works great and I use it as a penetrating oil for all projects.

Purchase a gasket set and tear the engine down. I k now you want the quickest, easiest and cheapest fix.
Cleaning the engine up, checking for parts broken prior to your purchase and not breaking anything by reefing . Will cost the least and take the least time.

I have found some form of vibration makes a lot of difference It's required for guarantee with engine release brand penentrant recently worked for me with stuck F 20 TRACTOR I had jack on hand crank tapped with hammer for possibly 5 min and WHOOSH pentrantent flew out sparkplug holes
I've used engine release once too. Worked great, but pricey.
Money back guarantee, but I never got to test how well it's honored.

If it's stuck real bad, the only fix is to tear it apart.

before you load it on a trailer to bring it home pull the injectors like the others said and put you choice of penatrating oil in it it may suprise you and be free when you make it home with the bouncing and vibration of the road

This is my favorite (with a u in Canada) pic I ever post on here. Good thing I concidered it a pig in a poke, wanted the tires, paid by the ton.
Took off the head, all 4 full of swamp water. Took off the pan... the connecting rod looked like a banana, the rings on this and another were seized to the point only a 20 pound maul would get them out... I would have rather the sleeves came out too, but they didn't. Don't matter, Perkins is now owned by CAT, and they don't want people rebuilding these otherwise unbreakable ol Perkinses.
So, a rod from here, a piston from there, a partial kit from one supplier, the rest from another.... this is a 212 perkins gasoline in an ex New York state 2135 highway model. And I hope nothing on it ever breaks this bad ever again.....
I didn't check there yet- did you post this on the Massey forum? Lots of good, usefull and rather intelligent responses to be found there... and if you search the archives there from about this time last year, you can see more disgusting pics and read the whole sad story.... you better hope it is just a stuck valve stem....

On a stuck diesel engine I use turpentine if you can pull the injectors fill the cylinders with turpentine and let it sit. If that does not do it you will have to open it up and do more

A 2135 didn't use the 212 Perkins gas. A 3165 might have but an MF30 did for sure.

You're right! the 2135 is my narrow guy. this is the one with the Perkins. A 165...2165... 3165?goes by another name? My 2135 has a Cont gas.
Very few diesels ever lock up. Is the starter maybe jammed? Is there any kind of extra pulley drives somewhere that could be the source of the lock up?
The ash deposits in the engine should keep it lubed. Is the oil milky? If you have a bad head gasket you could have a locked up engine. The antifreeze would corrode the cylinder wall and then seize the piston to the wall. Tear it down if you can't find a simple problem.
