Sediment Bowl Screen

How does one remove and replace the sediment bowl screen on a NAA? When I first looked at it, it appeared to be a nut that retained it. It appears to be some kind of special clip.

Shut the gas off, loosen the nut under the glass bowl, move the bail out of the way and remove the glass.
Empty and clean the glass out.
Above the glass is a gasket. It may be cork or rubber, but that's what seals to the glass and holds the screen in.
Once that gasket is out the screen just comes out. Many times it comes out with the gasket.
Clean it out good and re-install in reverse order.
Your sediment bowl will not fill quickly if you have the seal good. If the carb is full of gas and the needle valve shut off, it may not fill at all until you start the tractor.

Don't forget there's two more screens that need attention in your fuel system as well...one inside the tank, and one in the elbow on the fuel line going into the carb.

In Wisconsin "Blains Farm-Fleet" stores sell a
kit, in several sizes, with a new screen, and a gasket.
