climbs up T posts and a tree to shed it's skin? Only true climbers I ever seen around here were black snakes. (NW MO).

Have seen more than 1 Rat snake go up a tree. Cleaned out a nest of starlings then came down headfirst out of that locust tree. Wouldn't think a t-post would pose a problem.

Really, there is no such thing as a 'Black snake". You probably have a 'Rat snake' leaving their skin behind They love to climb and I often find them hanging out in my rafters.

Here in NC a few of the climbers are Rat snakes, Corn snakes, and Black racers. The hard thing about identifying a skin that has been shed is that often it's nearlu opaque and the origional color is almost impossible to identify. That said I just found one the other day right inside the door to the crawlspace under my house when I went in to change the water filter. Looking at your pic the one I saw was identical to it other than being on the ground.

Ni such thing as a black snake???????????? Funny here in Missouri we have them and very very common at that and if that is not there name you better talk to the Missouri state conservation dept and tell them there is no such thing since they have them in there magazine

Hanging on the supply line to the water heater under the house when I went to replace it. I hate snakes so it took a bit to convince myself to proceed. It also took a lot of light so I could see good!
