NCWayne how is that hay machine coming?

Just wondering about how that project was coming?

Had hoped to be loading it on the customers trailer on Friday but me being sick the other week threw my whole schedule way out of whack. Then there a few 'emergencies' (one of them was going to look at another project for the same customer) that come up during the first part of the week that threw me a few more days behind.

As it stands I got the hydraulics hooked up a few days ago but ran into a problem getting everything to work. Seems the instructions given to me for setting up the pump were only applicable if it was running a system full of cylinders, not motors. A couple of calls to the mfg and by yesterday evening I had everything working like it was supposed to. If things work out as planned I'll have everything setting outside by Sunday evening and I plan to take a few more pics and possibly a video or two of everything running. Given the logistics off trying to get a bailer and several big hay bails up here (and all of the resulting small ones all back down to SC) I'll have to wait until everything is in place and operating on the customers yard to actually tweek everything in and get videos of it actually working.

Talking about the other project, they just bought a used machine to do the same thing with round bails that this one is going to do with square bales. The thing was nearly $75,000 new but the seller was 'highly motivated'/desperate to sell so they got it for a song. The plan is to get it operating and get any bugs worked out of it. Once that is out of the way, the current plan is to get me to take the power unit components and build another setup similar to this one. Like it is all of the valving, etc on the round setup is manual, and there is nowhere for the operator to get that is protected. So, the plan is another combine cab, and all of the valving will be electric solenoids like the one I'm building now.
