didn't want to highjack the flea post, but I was just thinking this morning that because of the lack of rain we have had no problem with mosquitoes. We started out with the worst tick population but I haven't even seen one of them in about 2 weeks. I keep checking the dogs and not finding any there either. I think the chiggers have even let up.

The "skeeters" are not bad, only reason we have em now is that 20 acre pond down the hill from me.

What I am trying to understand is those blackflies, they are still swarming, some bite more now thant they did, have to wear a straw hat and I spray listerine on seems to work, boy they are annoying, even with this dry weather, used to be you only had em in the spring, then summer, early morning or evening, they did not seem to like direct sunlight, now that does not seem to matter, must be the mild winter.
