What are the seeds or what looks like seeds in the jug? So, did you eat them in one day or did you wait about 5 days? Did you wait for them to change color?
How were the regular size cukes as compared to the little pickles?

hi bo,,the seeds are pickling spice, We didnt eat the whole jar,some of the big cukes were bitter because of the dry weather,the pickle cukes were right on,and you were right ,when they changed colors they tasted the best! thanks for the info,,always nice to hear from you,,, Larry

I don't use pickling spice but I'll get some and give it a shot. I never tried the full size cukes as they are hard to get unwaxed. I don't grow my own. I do use the pickles and buy them at the farmer's market. I don't make more than 6-8 at a crack as there is only me and the wife to eat them. There are some days when we don't eat a pickle and I like to not let them sit in brine more than a week or two. They get too soft after that. I bought a deli pickle for a buck and compared to mine and mine was better hands down.
