Well phase 1 of the new patio is done. Fieldstone wall laid, and Item#4 in place. Like all my projects, it grew in scope. Phase 2, Piers complete and done. Phase 3, we have to replace the 5'X12.5' picture window, cause the seal went between the dual pains. Decided to use 4 energy star windows that I salvaged when doing a complete home makeover in Conn. in a 3' bump out (custom bay). That's what the piers will support. The nook will work well for a pellet stove in the future??. For the time being, a nice place for our larger house plants, and maybe a winter herb garden. It will be 36sq.ft.of floor space on the east side of our home. The roof for the bump out will be a simple gable, with the same pitch as the house roof and phase 4,next spring we will build a pergula out to the edge of the wall, and over the fireplace insert which (salvaged from a job) will be laid up with fieldstone and an extended chimney. I hope to install aluminum C channels used on green houses so 6mm poly can be add if we wish to the framework of the pergula. Probably sounds ambitious to many, but not me. BTDT before.
