60ish hp loader tractor

I am currently running a 42hp allis 6140 for a loader tractor and a 72hp agco allis 6680 for baling and cutting. I am wanting to upgrade the loader tractor to around 60hp so I can use it in a bind to run the round baler or mower. I have these tractors in mind:
Allis 175/180
Ford 5000
Massey 175/180
Oliver 1650
MM 670
Farmall 560/656
Case 830/870
I am particularly interested in the 830 or 560 because they are lower priced around here. I have never seen a MM670 in person. Ford 5000's Allis 175's and Olivers with loaders seem to bring way too much generally. Any feedback on any of these tractors would be helpful. Particularly any info on hydraulics, brakes, diesel engines or weak points. Also wondering why the Cases bring so little in general. They seem to be good enough to me. Thanks-Morgan

You may already have included parts availability, dealer network/support, price/collector trends, "liberation" (how "preferred" the tractor is among thieves)/ insurance (?), weight (when moved by your trailer), fuel choice, etc in your search criteria.
Sometimes it is a better choice to go with a size or two larger tractor because they might be cheaper, abundant, etc (see forementioned listed points). Plus, you would not run at 75-100% but maybe 50-60%, lasts longer. Make sure your tractor PTO power will still match your equipment gearboxes, regardless of your choice.

I am not a Ford man but I would go with the 5000 of those on the list. If not the Ford then the Oliver. I can't speak for your area but I do not see 5000's go for outrageous money here.

The Oliver 1650 makes a super nice loader tractor with the full frame that it has.
The tilt/telescope steering puts it ahead of the competition. At 65 horses,it'll do the other jobs you mention too. No question or comparison in my book. Parts availability is no problem either, but it's rare that you ever need them.

If you are thinking of going with a Case I would suggest you get one without the Case-O-Matic and go up to a 930 they have a better engine and are more reliable. We had a 730, 830, and a 930 and the 830 was a case-o-matic engine and tranny were both problems the whole time we had it, even the dealership advised us to get rid of it. Just my two cents.

The 870 outclasses all of those you have listed, including your AGCO. It may only book at 80ish HP, but give many 100hp tractors a run for their money.

With a powershift they make a handy loader tractor.

The 175Allis and the Masseys have probably has the best engine of the bunch for a utility tractor.

With a loader you want to find the most overbuilt front end of the lot.

My inclination would to go with the Massey or Ford however it seems the Massey and Fords
mentioned would be a lot more money then a Farmall 560. How many hours a year do you use
your loader? If it's that significant or you feed with it and need it everyday I'd be wary
of trading it off on an older machine. If you're adding another tractor the 560 or the
Cases might be the way to go being older it would be cheaper if equipped with a loader you
could cover either tractor function and have the ability to field 3 tractors should the
need arise.

I have a MF180 diesel with a loader. If you're not in a hurry
and stay out of sloppy conditions it works just OK. I say this because of the manual shifting and lack of front wheel drive. It's been a great work tractor for the last 20 yr and been reliable.

I had a 930CK gas (941) with a loader. ~70HP.
Tractor worked fine but the power steering belt was always squealing. Never could get it to quit. Common problem I'm told.
Around here, central MI, I about had to give it away. Too big for the small guys, too small for the big guys. And gas to boot.
Case dealer got me all the parts I needed without any trouble, but they were pricey compared to other brands.
2 cents.

thanks everyone for the info. Just a little more of the story from me. I feed with a bale bed on the truck 99% of the time. Tractor would mostly be used for loading bales in the field or for customers in the winter (if I ever have hay to sell again). Other than that maybe brush hogging or other stuff I wouldn't want to use the cab tractor for. The 42hp allis works fine for these, but I got in a pinch this year when cab tractor broke down and utility tractor just wont run the hay equipment. Thanks-Morgan

I don't know what kind of rd baler you have but external_link shows Ford 5000 at 53.09 pto hp. Ford 5000's are good tractors. I think Farmall 560 transmission wouldn't be very suitable for loader use. As already stated the 30 & 70 series JI Case's are good tractors.

Early 5000's with the 233 c.i. were 55-57 pto h.p.,
depending on which transmission; later models with
the 256 c.i. were 65-67 pto h.p., depending on which
transmission.

Be careful that whatever you choose has frame rails olong the engine. We had a loader on an 800 Case and it had no frame rails. Engine block split on a -20 below day feeding big round bales. The Farmall 560 is a good loader tractor.
