Auction Tractor

Other than being in good shape and a loader, is there something about this model or year that makes it special? Or did someone get a little crazy bidding, as people do sometimes.

I thought the same thing but the article said the money was transferred. Like others I can't understand the logic IF the guy wants a working tractor, not a collector's item. Buy a brand new one for that price.
 
This being an antique tractor site and based on the on the amazement of some here apparently many have yet to understand some tractors are very collectable and rarity can determine price. Many IH collectors did not know that model was even produced. Go to the Red Power site to learn more about this tractor.
 
I think somebody farfed up and got their decimal in the wrong place. Hope they didn't make the same mistake when they sent the money.
