after a month delay in getting the first cut done due to bad weather it finally is in the shed. Cut it on a Wednesday and flipped it and baled on the Sunday. Hired a couple of neighbor boys to help with the picking which sure made that part of the job a lot easier, especially with the temperature creeping up.

Congratulations. Always a good feeling to get-er-done. 3000 more bales & I'll call it a year. Should be done by labor day this year - last year quit in November! So dry around here (s.w.Pa) that not much second cut. Cut 6 acres of second a week ago and got 82 bales.

Good for you... got the worst of what we had to do rolled just a few minutes before the sky opened up the other day....

Now humor me.... Why do you stack on edge? Habit or does it serve a purpose?

The theory is mice won't cut the strings when hay is stacked on edge. At least this is what i have been told. Downside is makes it a lot harder to walk on. When Dad was farming he and the neighbors always stacked twine strings up and I don't recall that many cut strings. Armand

Nice looking hay. I like the low trailer, if you are going to drop the bales on the ground it's much easier to load them that way than on a conventional rack you would pull behind the baler.
