How tough would it be for the appliance companies to put a little beeper on a fridge or freezer door the would indicate it is not shut all the way?

Don"t know how it happens but once in a while the bottom mount freezer on our fridge does not get shut all the way.

Food is still part froze this morning but somewhat soft.

Darn it anyway.

They actually do have them. We bought a new freezer last year... and it does have little beeper. Not sure at what temp it kicks in - but daughter left door ajar and some stuff thawed partially but the beeper did beep (though it could be much louder - it took us half the day to figure out what the occassional beeping was - it sounded like a wrist-watch alarm). Otherwise we may not have noticed it until it was too late because our big freezer is in the basement, so we don't see it everyday.
 

Sympathy on the freezer problem, Gary. Hope the food didn't spoil.

How's the temperature and rain fall there? Upper 90's here.

Hit 100 degrees here yesterday with no rain forecast till Sunday.95 plus forecast till next week.

20% chance on Sunday, woopie!

About 10% of my corn is done.Turning brown. Another 40% in trouble and the other 50% not looking good.

None of it will be good as we are pollinating in this heat.

There will be a lot of insurance claims this fall in SE Iowa.

Would cows eat the corn stocks? I've seen some people making round bales out of corn stocks.
 
I have that on a Sears upright freezer I brought over 30 years ago. It will start beeping if the temp gets so high or things star thawing. The only problem I have is I forget to replace the 9volt battery now and then that operates it.
