Just got through watching the Angels give us a free show. They stopped here last summer to refuel and we had a 500 plus year flood. The crews said they would be back this year for a free show. Our airport took up volunteer collection and the money was donated to the flood rebuilding fund.
Sat on front steps and watched the show. Wonderful show! THANKS CANADA!! Len

Some Blue Angel tradition.
I was A Navy F-4 Carrier pilot. During my younger days several of my closest friends became Blues pilots. Including, "Burner" Bill Beardsley, Dennis Sapp, Steve Shoemaker, Ernie "Sparky" Christenson, and Tony Less. Tony would become the leader for one tour.
Legend had it that if you were at a Blues party and had a pregnant wife, and she talked to the Leader and or touched him or vice versa you for sure would have a girl baby.
So I was in China Lake,CA, the Blues came , did a show and I took my pg wife to the O'Club to say hi to the guys and get an autographed 14x20 glossy. I gave my "EX" specific instructions to stay away from Tony. Five minutes in the door she is drinking a margarits with him and giving him a big hug. Of course the fact that she was a 9+ blonde didn't help.
Tony looked at me, winked, gave me the pistol shot sign as in " dead bug". Five months later we had a baby girl.
Wife is long gone, large framed glossy with 9 autographs hangs in my daughter's otherwise manicured estate home in Atlanta, and she loves to tell the story.

What the ? is a Canada Blue Angel? They were the Canadian Snow Birds when I used to hang around the air force bases in Grand Forks and Minot, and the base at Winnipeg for that matter.

Perhaps you mean the Snowbirds - they're Canada's aerobatic team based at 15 Wing Moose Jaw. There's a decommissioned Snowbird Tudor jet on display at the tourist information shop at Moose Jaw, Sask. This piture is from a couple years ago.

Went out at noon today and saw two of them do a low pass over my farm. Guess they new I was a disabled Navy Vet.
Sure were pretty.

The Canadian Snowbirds are the only 9 plane aerobatic team in the world and are considered one of, if not the best aerobatic team in the world.

I saw the Snowbirds at an big air show a number of years ago (at Offutt AFB by Omaha?). They were the best flying group at that show, very impressive.

Maybe the only 9 plane formation in N. America. There are also 2 solo pilots. When they do air shows you can usually listen to all the radio communication between the pilots and it's very fast!

SORRY ABOUT THAT! Should be Snowbirds not Angels. The little bit of the mind that's left dun goofed.
