Finally getting some hay baled

We went from way too wet and now haven't had a drop of rain in two weeks. I still have wet spots to work around but finally getting some serious hay made. Got about a thousand to go and will be done with 1st crop, it isn't too course yet, still makes pretty nice hay, hit 102 here today but had a nice breeze. Can cut in the morning and bale the next afternoon. You all have a good 4th of July!!

SE MN here.

I saw wunderground.com has a forecast of 114F heat index for Thursday and a 118F heat index for Friday here. That's enough to keep me away from the mower. I decided to irrigate my garden instead. I've got about 5 acres of nice 2nd crop alfalfa down for the 4th of July that I was going to square bale, but I've having SERIOUS second thoughts about that idea right now. Most likely I'll just roll it up. Last July I got heat cramps in my legs and don't want to through that again.

It's been about 5 years since I had to water my garden here. Took a long time and a lot of sweat to dig out my old leaky hoses out of the shed.

Pretty much the same here in n/w WI, tho we haven't had 2 weeks of dry. Have gotten roughly 100 acres done in the last 9 days, some small squares, but mostly rounds. About 25 acres to go, and that is trefoil/grass mix, so it's still pretty decent. Over an inch of rain last night, so I'm glad everything that was cut was baled yesterday!
