OT Want to download digital camera to apple

Just got this digital camera and uses a micro SD card. I bought a card and an SD adapter manufactured by a company named SCANDISC. I have an apple MAC OSX 10.6.2 which has an SD slot and the camera came with an adapter to adapt the micro card to a USB port. Neither are responding to the instructions that came with the camera. It's a Coleman Extreme outdoor type camera.

I took a few test pictures to see how everything works and I'm not getting very far.

Help would certainly be appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

Wife was having trouble getting her laptop to recognise her camera... Bought a 5 buck universal card reader and solved the problem in a couple of minutes....

It might be possible that you may have to go into your disk utility first and format the card for the mac to recognize it. ...but then I wonder if your camera will recognize the card after that.

...anyway, open your disc utility and see if you can see the card there. If so, erase it and reformat it.

Have you tried hooking up the the camera straight to your mac?

Go to IPhoto help or image capture help, should fix you up. Apple 's help is among the best. You may need the driver for that camera/computer combo.

My Kodak easy share came with a disc that I had to download into my computer (IMac) before I could download any pictures. Sounds like Dave2 has a good suggestion.

Well, after googling the subject including the mac and the camera, it has occurred to me that the best thing to do is put it back in the box and send it back to the seller. Folks were not happy with the camera and I validated every one of their objections including poor picture quality.

In retrospect this am, I sent a pic off my cell phone via Bluetooth, it hooked up automatically, pushed a few buttons on the phone to select the event and all and in a couple of seconds the picture was stored in my computer and I was looking at it on the screen, about 2/3 full screen. Picture quality was not perfect, as compared to a upscale digital camera, but considering, was plenty clear for me.

So it looks like I have a camera and since it is my cell, I don't have another "hootus" to keep track of and drag around.

Thanks for your replies,
Mark
