New way to end a day...

Ran across a new day-killer today. We have been cultivating beans with our IH826 with a mounted 8r30 #85 cultivator. At some point (or probably at several different points) the gang under the tractor reared up enough to hit the oil pan. Wasn't a big hole but it started leaking pretty steady. Luckily we caught before any more damage was done. Threaded a bolt with a gasket on it and added some oil to get it home. Defiantly the first time a busted oil pan has made the repair list. Fortunately we still have the 3020 w/ an FM on it to keep things rolling.

My dad had a Farmall 560 Diesel he bought in 1964. I was out baling straw one summer in the early 1980's and saw coolant spewing out the right side of the engine about a 3' long stream. I hurried home with it and got it there before it ran hot luckily. It filled the one cylinder with coolant but all was ok. It was just a blown head gasket luckily...
